Clearing House Updates July 21, 2008
Wisconsin Medicaid
Wisconsin Medicaid was not
ready for NPI only claims. As a result, HCDS had to modify their clearinghouse
programs to accommodate Medicaid. Please rebill any outstanding claims to
Wisconsin Medicaid. All Medicaid legacy ids must be in your database. Taxonomy
codes used for Medicaid should be the taxonomy codes that are listed on the NPI
Enumerators document when you were issued your NPI.
HIRSP- Wisconsin Health Risk Program.
The old payer id code was
00074. Please change the payer id to the new code 00WPS.
DME
Durable Medical Claims can
now be filed to NGS, the new entity that is processing DME claims. If you do
not have the new HCDSDME format available in your electronic claim options,
please contact the HCDS support department.
Billing Errors
If the electronic billing run
in PPM is interrupted by an error message in PPM or an error from your
computer, please call HCDS support. If the billing run is interrupted, it
creates an incomplete file. This incomplete file must be deleted or it will
append itself to the next file created, therefore creating a file that can not
be processed.
Medicare Crosswalk Errors
If offices are getting
crosswalk errors on the Medicare carrier reports, this may be a result of the
way the provider registered with Medicare using their social security number
instead of the employer tax id. If this is the case, the provider will need to
call provider relations and re-credential with Medicare. This process can take
4-6 weeks. As a temporary work-around, contact HCDS support to have a new
electronic claim form created, which will be called HCDSWIM for WI Medicare and
HCDSILM for IL Medicare.. This form will transmit the correct information
regarding the social security number. After the re-credentialing process at
Medicare is complete, the temporary format for Medicare should be discontinued
and the ecs format should be changed back to HCDSEMC.
